BRISTOL ZOO AQUARIUM

Bristol Zoo's Aquarium displays a variety of species, from the highly endangered cichlids and goodeids to the weird and wonderful electric eel and lungfish.

The large landscaped displays represent the fauna and flora of different regions of the world and include four-eyed fish in mangrove swamps and giant pacus in flooded Amazonian forests.

There is plenty of work going on behind the scenes too, including breeding and research of seahorse species and involvement with field-work initiatives.

Aquatic displays showing native marine fish species feature in the Zoo’s fantastic new Seal and Penguin Coasts where, from transparent underwater tunnels, visitors have a truly amazing view of seals and penguins.
